August 24–28, 2026
Nvidia and the Fed share the spotlight this week. Nvidia reports Wednesday after the bell, just hours after investors get July PCE inflation, durable goods and the second estimate of second-quarter GDP. Then attention pivots to Jackson Hole, where Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is set to deliver his first keynote as chair Friday. Read to the end to see why this week matters.

Why This Week Matters
Wednesday could do much of the work for the Fed before Warsh even reaches the podium. July PCE, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge, arrives alongside revised second-quarter GDP and durable goods orders. The combination should give investors another look at inflation, growth and business spending heading into September’s FOMC meeting. Warsh has deliberately pulled back from heavy forward guidance, making the incoming data even more important to the rate debate.
Then there is Nvidia, which reports Wednesday after the close and remains one of the best reads on whether the enormous buildout in AI infrastructure is still accelerating. Nvidia enters the report after a rougher stretch for semiconductor stocks and amid renewed concern about the cost of financing hundreds of billions of dollars in AI investment. Another strong quarter could reinforce the spending cycle while any cracks in demand, margins or the outlook would travel well beyond Nvidia.
The rest of the earnings calendar gives traders plenty to work with. Salesforce, CrowdStrike, Workday and Intuit offer another look at enterprise software spending, while Marvell and IREN provide additional reads on AI infrastructure. Dick’s, Best Buy, Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Ulta will help show where consumers are still spending and where they are pulling back. By Friday, those corporate signals will meet the Fed at Jackson Hole.
