June 8–12, 2026
Markets head into the week with May CPI, May PPI, weekly jobless claims, April trade data and preliminary June consumer sentiment all on deck, alongside a lighter but useful earnings slate including Oracle. The other thing still hanging over the tape is the Strait of Hormuz. OPEC+ approved another output increase over the weekend, but Reuters said the group is still dealing with disruptions tied to the closure, which means oil, shipping and inflation expectations can move quickly on any headline.

Why This Week Matters
The macro side does most of the work this week. Tuesday’s trade report helps frame growth and external demand, Wednesday’s CPI is the anchor, and Thursday follows with PPI and jobless claims. By Friday, markets get one more sentiment check from the University of Michigan, where the survey site is already flagging that supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz are boosting gasoline prices and weighing on consumers.
On the corporate side, Oracle is the headline report because it remains one of the cleaner cloud and AI infrastructure read-throughs in software, while Chewy and Casey’s offer more targeted looks at consumer demand.
