July 13–17, 2026
Markets head into the week with a much heavier setup than last week. Tuesday brings June CPI and the start of big bank earnings, while Fed Chair Kevin Warsh heads to Capitol Hill for two days of testimony that could give traders a better read on the Fed’s inflation fight and rate path. Netflix, TSMC, ASML, UnitedHealth and GE Aerospace also report later in the week.

Why This Week Matters
The macro calendar is not light this week. CPI on Tuesday and PPI on Wednesday will give traders the next inflation check after the June FOMC minutes showed a divided Fed and renewed concern around inflation pressure. Warsh’s testimony on Tuesday and Wednesday matters because lawmakers are expected to press the new Fed chair on price stability, the 2% inflation target, energy-driven price shocks and whether the Fed is still leaning cautious on rates. Traders will also be listening for how much Warsh sticks to a data-dependent message rather than offering firm forward guidance.
The Fed calendar also includes the Beige Book on Wednesday and industrial production on Friday.
The earnings calendar is where things really pick up. The big banks report Tuesday, with JPMorgan, Goldman, Bank of America, Citi and Wells Fargo all on deck, followed by Morgan Stanley on Wednesday. That gives the market a read on trading revenue, investment banking, loan demand, deposit costs and credit quality.
Tech and AI also stay at the front. ASML reports Wednesday and TSMC reports Thursday, giving traders a read on semiconductor demand, AI infrastructure spending and whether the chip trade still has room after another strong stretch. Netflix reports Thursday after the close, with the market watching growth, margins and any commentary around engagement, live TV or bundles. UnitedHealth and GE Aerospace also give the week a broader read on health care and industrial demand.
The Hormuz story is still worth watching. Reuters reported last week that OPEC+ approved another August output increase as exports through the Strait of Hormuz had started to recover, but new U.S.-Iran headlines over the weekend brought the risk back into focus. Oil, tanker flows and energy inflation remain part of the tape, especially with CPI and PPI landing early in the week.
