Yet another holiday-shortened week this week, the U.S. stock market closed on Friday to observe the Independence Day holiday on Saturday, July 4.

Following Micron's earnings report last week, earnings season is buttoned up. With big banks starting the earnings parade for next quarter back up in mid July, traders and investors will have a lack of updated earnings info for the next couple weeks.
