As earnings season marches on, the S&P 500 index futures continued their march to new all-time highs during Wednesday’s session.

Overnight, bulls held another modest uplift, bottoming at a low of 7293.50 while mostly hugging the psychological 7300 level. They eventually broke out after early morning reports on progress toward a US-Iran memo to end the war helped bulls rocket to new all-time highs. Profit-takers stepped in near the 7360 area and ruled the action until the regular session.

After the opening bell, bulls were back at it and rallied through the premarket high without too much trouble. For the rest of the morning and first half of the afternoon, the action plateaued around the premarket high. It was in the final two hours that a light rally pushed to new all-time highs once again. Volatility picked up slightly in the final minutes, marking a new all-time high of 7395.75. The session concluded at a new all-time closing high of 7389.50, gaining a very healthy 102.25 handles.

Tomorrow, market participants can look forward to Q1’s US productivity report at 8:30 AM ET, along with some other minor macro data and another load of earnings reports in the morning and evening.

Among the top components of the index, NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) emerged as the biggest gainer. The chip designer was able to advance by $11.17 or 5.68 percent to close at $207.67 for the day.

That performance was a fortunate four times better than the cash index’s advance of 1.39 percent.

Conversely, the biggest loser ended up being Walmart Inc (NYSE: WMT). For the day, the retail giant declined by $0.71 or 0.54 percent to close at $130.08.
