One of the best-performing themes from Monday: Solar.
The sharp move higher could have been a dead-cat bounce, sure. But the move also seemed oddly timed ahead of what many sources have been suggesting could be a democrat sweep of the Senate and the House in the U.S.’s mid-term elections.
The thesis for the price action yesterday: liberals may be more receptive to renewable energy sources—exactly like solar.
Digging a little deeper, how’s this for an ‘under-the-radar’ news item:
Enphase’s President and CEO Badri Kothandaraman late Monday disclosed his open market purchase of 10,000 company shares, or nearly $300,000.
Interestingly, with Enphase shares up about 15% yesterday, unless Kothandaraman purchased the shares during the first few minutes of yesterday’s session, he would have paid a premium versus Friday’s price.
Something Stock Trader Network Chief Strategist Dennis Dick is always looking for with this type of news item, insider buys: “a vote of confidence.”
Could Enphase investors get much more a vote of confidence than their head executive buying a handful of stock a day before the U.S. may get a more favorable environment for renewable energy?
We’ll let you be the judge.
