Why This Week Matters

Stocks will settle in to a new market this week: before SpaceX (SPCX) and after SpaceX. Investors will be watching closely to see if SpaceX's stock price interacts with the $150 open price from Friday. SpaceX options will start trading on Tuesday, bringing an interesting volume catalyst to the beginning part of this week.

Wednesday will mark the first Fed meeting with Kevin Warsh at the helm. While the interest rate decision seems like a foregone conclusion (range unchanged at 3.5-3.75%), the press briefing at 2:30 p.m. EDT will be maybe the top focus item for this week. Warsh's positioning on inflation, jobs and economic growth could suggest a monetary path which Wall Street could be on for the next four years.

Thursday could be yet another probably-higher volume day as the triple witch gets pulled ahead a day because the market's closure to celebrate the Junteenth holiday.
