PreMarket Prep hosted the wonderful Nancy Tengler on Thursday’s episode.
Amazon (AMZN) shares were met with profit taking Thursday morning following news of a partnership with NVIDIA (NVDA).
Tengler felt the dip in shares this morning was another buying opportunity in the stock.
She noted her fund, Lafferty Tangler, recently added the stock into their value portfolio. Tengler agreed with PreMarket Prep host Triple D when he commented on how odd it seemed to be calling names like Amazon and NVIDIA “value stocks.”
But Nancy pointed out, versus the other two big big-box retailers, Costco (COST) and Walmart (WMT)—she also owns WMT—Amazon trades at an average multiple of 20x earnings over the next three years worth of earnings.
“This is a company run by the savviest-of-savvy CEOs, the mind behind AWS itself, Andy Jassy,” Tengler said.
She continued, “he has been right-sizing the business and I think this latest deal [with NVIDIA] is another example of him pivoting ahead of his competitors.”
