The S&P 500 index futures kept the bullish momentum rolling Thursday, extending the win streak to seven straight days after breaking through recent resistance on continued ceasefire relief.

Overnight action stayed relatively muted and in the red, but bulls found their footing after an early morning low of 6792.50 and steadily built bids from there. The regular session opened in the 6800 handle, tested that key psychological level, and then began to pull away. The rally really kicked into gear once bulls cleared Wednesday’s close and pushed past its high.

Momentum carried through the afternoon, peaking at 6876 before bears and profit-takers trimmed some of the gains. Still, the bulls held firm and kept the session on track. The day closed near the high at 6863.25, up 39.50 handles.

Friday brings March’s CPI report at 8:30 AM ET with no major earnings on the docket.

Among the top components of the index, Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN) stood out as the biggest gainer, climbing $12.40 or 5.60% to close at $233.65.

That performance was a neat nine times better than the cash index’s 0.58% advance.

Conversely, Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT) was the biggest loser, slipping $1.26 or 0.34% to close at $373.07.
